Exact temperature, 5–20 °C
Every wine at its serving temperature — champagne at 6–10, a fuller white at 10–13, a structured red at 14–16.
Rechargeable, portable, ultra-silent — 5–20 °C
Meet the founder
GRAD began with a simple frustration: great bottles served wrong — champagne drowning in an ice bucket, red poured too warm. Max built the wine cooler he couldn't buy: set to the degree, portable, quiet on the table. Today GRAD No.1 is made in Sweden & Denmark and travels to tables across Europe and beyond.

The perfect serve
Battery life depends on the set temperature & ambient air: about 4 h at 5°C, 9 h at 10°C, 20 h at 15°C.

How it works
Every wine at its serving temperature — champagne at 6–10, a fuller white at 10–13, a structured red at 14–16.
About 4 h at 5 °C, 9 h at 10 °C, 20 h at 15 °C in a 22 °C room. Full charge in 2.5 hours, and it can be used while charging.
Thermoelectric cooling with no compressor — nothing hums under the conversation.
Some brands outsource their technology, design and production to cut cost. We choose to design & build GRAD no.1 in Scandinavia with the worlds most talented designers & engineers.

The Off-White Edition
The first expression of GRAD No.1, and the quietest. A warm off-white powder coat over the stainless steel body, chosen to sit with stone, linen, ceramics, pale wood and candlelight rather than stand apart from them. It reads as part of the table, not as an appliance placed on it.

Our mission
GRAD is an engineering company that happens to make something beautiful. The Perfect Serve is a temperature problem before it is a design problem — and solving it properly means sensors, insulation, airflow and a battery that behaves the same on the tenth evening as on the first.
We design in Denmark and manufacture in Sweden. It is the expensive way to do this. We keep doing it because it is the one place where Scandinavian design judgement and state-of-the-art engineering sit in the same room — and because we would rather answer for the product ourselves than explain a factory we have never visited.
Before you buy
It depends on the temperature you set: roughly 20 hours at 15°C, 9 hours at 10°C, and 4 hours at 5°C. Those figures are measured at a room temperature of 22°C — in direct sun or a warm environment the cooler works harder, so expect less. A full charge takes 2.5 hours, and you can keep serving while it charges.
Yes — that’s what it’s for. Two honest notes: for optimal battery life, start with a pre-chilled bottle — GRAD No.1 is built to hold a temperature rather than to chill from warm quickly, and holding is far lighter work for the battery. And in heat or direct sunlight the battery works harder, so the lower the temperature you set, the shorter it holds it. Champagne at 8°C on a summer terrace is exactly the job — just bring it out chilled.
Most standard 75 cl bottles, champagne included — anything up to 10 cm in diameter. The bottle sits comfortably inside; if a shoulder is wider than 10 cm, it won’t.
Yes. Set it on the charging plate and it cools while it charges — the battery is for the moments away from the plate: the table, the terrace, wherever the evening goes.
Grad No.1 is a designed to maintain your wine at the perfect serving temperature when taken from your wine cellar or refrigerator. If you're starting with a room-temperature bottle, Grad No.1 cools it similarly to a standard refrigerator, taking approximately 30 minutes for a red wine bottle and 55 minutes for a white wine bottle to reach the Perfect Serve temperature.
